Subject: Olivier and Dorris Win MWC Championship

Location: Rhinelander
It was frosty and calm this morning under clear skies, but the difference in air temp and water temp and lack of any wind was a recipe for fog.

The field was delayed this morning for a half hour, so the check in time will be 4:30 instead of 4 PM.

Most of the boats are locking through, and the only barge that might have caused an issue was holding due to the fog as well, and shouldn't try to move until after the field is through.

The top two places are for all intents tied, and anyone in the top 6 or so has a shot at the win IF the bite holds. Clearing skies and calm conditions might make the bite a bit tougher. Word is, the trolling bite is off, so casting and jigging are the techniques most are using. We saw plenty of jigs and cranks on the rods this morning.

Stand by for the final weigh in information as soon as it's over, probably in the 6:30 PM range because of the fog delay.

WalleyeFIRST coverage of the MWC us brought to you by Lund Boats and Mercury Outboards.

South Dakota's Curt Olivier and Mike Dorris brought three consistent weights to the scales capped by 15.81 pounds, the second biggest basket of the day to take the win and a check for $25,000.00 over Rick Walter and Brian Woodward by the slimmest of margins. Oliver and Dorris weighed in a three day total of 43.99; Walter and Woodward 43.91.

Third was Knippenberg and Buddie, fourth was Kopf and Geitgey and Diegle and Steffen rounded out the top five.

Most of the fish were reportedly caught pitching hair jigs and plastics. The bite was definitely tougher today with fewer limits, more zeros, and lighter weights. It seemed most of the top teams were fishing fairly close together, and additional weekend traffic effected the overall bite.
