The impending cold front and bad weather is still north of here, so the field left under clear skies, warm temps, and windy conditions. Most said they were headed to pool 14. Some reported they expect to fish for only a couple hours today because of travel time.

The bite has been as tough as anyone can remember, but some of the Pros we talked to this morning are on fish. The issue is a tough bite on top of a slot, so not only do the Pros need to find walleyes willing to bite, they need to catch the right size fish. The general consensus is if one can get an over or two to three fish a day, one will make the cut.

The weigh in begins at about 4 PM, watch for a full report directly after.

The forecast cold front roared through today dropping temps and raising winds, making a tough bite even tougher. Mercury Pro Danny Plautz brought the only 5 fish limit to the stage today, weighing 8-14 to take a 1-13 lead over Lund/Mercury Pro Ted Takasaki. Ranger/Evinrude Pro Kevin McQuoid is in third with 6-5, fourth is Nitro/Mercury Pro Gary Parsons with 5-7, tied with Chevy Pro Jason Przekurat to round out the top 5.

No one put an 'over' in the boat today. The slot is pretty restrictive, allowing fish from 15" to 20", and one over 27". Several fish in the 'mandatory release' slot were reported, and the bite, off because of low water, no current, and warmer water temps, promises to remain tough.

There were several 'overs' in the 10 pound class caught in practice...in four days of competition SOMEONE will pop one.

27 Pros weighed fish today. It's still anyone's game.

Tough bite in the Quad Cities. Again. Do Bass tourneys ever fish water with consistently bad bites like this?

As I've said before, I hated fishing water with slots for tournaments. Another reason to do CRR format!

WTG Danny Plautz. Hope your program holds up.

Somebody will catch an over, and that will close the gap quickly.

WOnder when the junk is gonna make it there from the storms yesterday?
