What are your walleye angling resolutions for 2004?

Mine are simple:
Go fishing with Zach more. He catches big walleyes.

Go fishing with Ralph and Rick, they take GREAT pictures and know that Yooper water real well.

Troll more, cast less.

Yours?

Worrall, what you don't know is that I only take you when I'm on big fish, that's why we so-seldom go !

Larry, I did the week in June on Big Bay 2 years ago, it was a big fish blast!

My resolutions are really just alterations; fish the WAT, spend more time on the river, do more muskie fishing.

I will work harder to ensure my two little daughter enjoy their days on the water with me.

I will make a game plan for the couple of tournaments I fish and will stick with them, regardless of my on the water success (or lack thereof).

I will not assume we won the come back award even though we brought in one of the biggest weights for the day! That still stings Brad. I hope you will be putting that motor to good use in this years tournaments. My resolution is to put fishing in the right place on my list of priorities. Fish hard when I have too and fish for fun with my family.

I resolve to be just a little less serious about the whole thing. My teaching skills, inthusiasm and sense of humor is contageous and often commented on when chartering. But so is my disapointment and bad attitude when I think I'm doing all I can and things continue to go downhill. This may keep me sharp, but shouldn't spoil anybodys day because of it.

I'm going to take up the practice of trolling cranks again. I have pretty much given up that style of fishing for the last 15 years, but with all the talk here and on other boards, I'm convienced I want to get back into it and take a run out to Erie, or LBDN this year or next and play for a few days.

Another 30" for the wall! Meet more WF folks, Learn more on handlinning, trolling speeds and better live bait trolling techniques..maybe that leadcore thing also. I've learned that jigging is not always the best way to catch fish. One last thing, Cheap equipment is just that!
Good Luck

Do more fun-fishing.

Get a walleye story printed in a fishing publication (with pictures).

Have many more fishing trips with people visiting WalleyeFirst.

Be happy with the fishing trip, and not just in catching fish.

Be more helpful to those that want to learn how to catch walleyes.

And my most "hoped for" resolution is to have that perfect fishing day.

I want to put what I learned last year to good use.

I want to fish with as many people as I possible can and learn the techniques they use to catch walleye. One can NEVER learn enough about these lil' devils.

I want to fish Lake Erie as much as possible and learn all I can about open water trolling.

I want to have as much fun tourney fishing as I did last year. Win, lose or draw I had a GREAT time at all tourneys. The tourneys are fun, but the after parties are better!

I hope the walleye gods bless us all with good catches in the year to come.

JG

Learn to effectively "fly fish" on the Bago chain. Matter of fact, learn to do something effectively on the chain :).
Take care,

To spend more days in the boat fishing with my 11 year old son Brandon than last year. That will be easy as we were only out together 4 times due to his baseball schedule and my boat problems.

To take the lessons from 2003 and apply them to 2004.

To cash at every event in 2004 that I fish.
