Location: Rhinelander | The Merc National got underway today under cloudy skies, calm conditions, and cool temps. the forecast is for light winds and sunny skies later today, with temps in the low 70's. The bite has been reportedly tough the last couple days after a stellar run of a few days before the cold front came through earlier this week. Another front is approaching, so hopes are high the bite will pick up despite calm conditions on Winnebago. Watch for a full report this evening. Location: Rhinelander | Lund/Mercury Pros Justin Kohn and Matt Nogalski lead the Merc National with 25.52. No details were disclosed, but a promise that if they do as well tomorrow they would 'give it up' was made during a WalleyeFIRST interview. Pat Kolbe and Brad Halbach are in second with 22.40, Tim Lynch and Scott Gray statistically tied but in third with 22.36, Glenn Curran and Tom Walters are in fourth with a close 22,24, and Todd Strook and Jason Strook round out the top 5 with 19.44. Limits were much harder to accomplish than last year, with about 25% of the field limiting. Merc National TFM Leaderboard The bite was tough. Winds are forecast to pick up tomorrow, and if the winds and rain are moderate enough, the bite should improve considerably.
