Location: Neenah, WI | I only caught a part of a report on television news yesterday about the DNR instituting some new regulations due to complaints from non tournament anglers. I saw Ron Goldapske talking and thought he did a credible job. I didn't see the whole report so I can't comment much more on it.
Now I have some questions and comments: I've been a tournament director on Lake Winnebago for 15 years. I've also been a competitor in walleye tourneys since 1985. I really think I should have gotten a notice from the DNR that this meeting was taking place. Judging from the DNR rep involved in the meeting, I doubt if he was alive in 1985. His comments seemed really slanted against tournaments while Ron stressed the economic impact on local economy. (good job Ron). I'm curious if any other local tourney directors were notified. I've never been on bad terms with the DNR but I'm starting to think there's an agenda against walleye tournaments. I sure hope not.

Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Pro or Con. This subject will always be an old and stinky can of worms. When regular fishermen, who sometimes struggle to catch few if any fish, see what they perceive as wasting them for simple monetary gain, the community value aspect looses some or all it's charm to them.

| Here is the statement links. Nothing earth shattering here. In fact, the biggest thing is increasing Ice tourney participants on small lakes to 150 anglers.
