| My Yamaha 200 HP HPDI will not start in colder temps until I click the key on and off for about a minute in colder damp conditions.
I was up in Escanaba this past week and it did the same thing every morning.
I have 3 new batteries and the connections are tight. My T-8 which is hooked to the same starter battery starts fine.
After the initial problem, it will start every time with no problem.
Anyone else every experience this |

Location: Rhinelander | It doesn't turn over at all until you manipulate the key position? |

| Upon turning the key the first time in the cold damp conditions, you can hear a click in the motor like a solenoid engaging but the starter will not move and the motor does not attempt to turn over.
After you click the key on and off each time you hear the solenoid clicking. After about a minute of clicking on/off, it starts great and then fires up with no problems every time you try.

| It may be bad brushes in the starter motor. |

| Replaced starter... thanks to Anchor Marine in Appleton I was able to replicate the problem. The starter was slow to raise and engage the flywheel. Eric replaced the starter and everything is working well. |
