Location: Rhinelander | The 2018 Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament field of 291 boats headed out on the water this morning onto a uncharacteristically calm Winnebago. The bite has been excellent, with numerous 18" to 20" walleyes reported, especially trolling the main lake working the river. Predictions are a limit each day at the 20" mark and a big kicker fish or two will win the event. Winds are East with maximum gusts at 13 today, under partly cloudy skies, a chance for some rain and a thunderstorm, and highs in the middle 70's. Perfect! The weigh in festivities on stage will begin around 2 PM today. Day One take off video, Dale Stroschein short interview and more, click HERE ! Location: Rhinelander | Gary and Hunter Will brought in a rare 23.07 pound basket today to take a commanding 3 1/2 pound lead at the 2018 Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament. They got into the bigger fish just before heading in, so it's tough to predict if the same conditions will be available tomorrow.
Day Two, Images from the stage! Member Posts: 87 Location: Neenah, WI | Does anyone else find it strange that there are no weights that have .16 to .99? All weights end with .00 to .15 That seems statistically impossible. Edited by schmidtwi 6/9/2018 7:49 PM

Member Posts: 87 Location: Neenah, WI | It's likely the .00 to .15 is ounces. But lbs/oz is not listed with x.xx, and previous Merc Nationals used .00 - .99. http://www.mercurynational.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/2017.pdf

Location: Rhinelander | Logan Lynch of Eldorado WI and Ryan Morgan of Fond Du Du Lac took the win at the Merc Nationals today by the narrowest of margins over yesterday's leaders, Gary and Hunter Will. The Wills went back to the rock pile that gave them the incredible lead yesterday, and it was stingy to say the least, giving up only 8.09 today. Lynch and Morgan weighed 19.15 yesterday, and 12.03 today to take the win by two ounces. The win was worth a new 18' Tracker fully rigged and powered by a 200 Merc fourstroke and $4000. Second place for the Wills was worth $10000 cash.
