Location: Gladstone, Michigan 49837 | due to a cancelation today was a search and rescue day! Looking for fish and trying to figure out the bite!
I started out the day jigging a bunch of spots I call "milk-run" spots I've ran throughout the years. Waters from 4 to 20 feet of water using 1/4 ounce, 1/8 ounce jigs tipped with minnows, leeches and crawlers along with breakline structures caught 16 undersize walleye and 2 fish between 17 and 20 inches that turned into supper tonight. I did cover waters through the day using floaters, harnesses and cranks but seemed to be the so subtle approach of putting the bait in their face worked best.
Talking with a number of anglers today the bite again was slow with only limited catches of legal size fish.
Water surface temps. were running about 51' to 53', winds starting out from the north this morning changed to the south and continue south as of this report.
Some cloud cover is approaching as well,
keep in touch fisherman as tomorrow will tell us more.
We do have several dates available yet in May including the afternoon of the 22nd. and the 23rd. of May.
We'll see you on the water,
