I heard that it helps to paint the bill of crankbaits red and add a red hook to the front hook of the bait. Is this true or doesn't it matter and how many people believe in this and do it to their crankbaits?

Try this experiment; troll half of your baits with this set-up.

We don't have a bass boat. Its a 290 sf and we ocassionally troll. I'm more talking about throwing the original floaters around dark.

Ok. I use to use a device that measured the light penetration into the water. When the sun begins to set, the sunlight must glance off the surface, as it gets pretty dark under water. So maybe a colored lip and hooks doesn't matter so much at dusktime.

And hey, I also own a Stratos 1850, bet you never heard of it!
