One of the many frustrations us Charter Captains have to adjust to in our line of work. ![]() Remind me to tell you about the Farm gal who thought the hospital urinal I carry for the mens use, was for everybodies use on the boat. First time Ol'Captain Dan gave the clients a tip....... ![]() Edited by walleye express 7/22/2004 4:40 PM

Gulp worms are great. As mentioned, don't let them dry out on the hook. The other thing I found out smallie fishing with them is that you need to keep them cool. If they get warm, they tear off the hooks real easily. I keep mine on ice now.

Location: Rhinelander | The Crappies really like the stuff. I used a jig and plastic without the Gulp, Sue used one with. I caught ZERO, she caught about a dozen, so I added the Gulp, and caught a bunch of fish. Tried going without several times with the same results. The Bluegills eat it up as well. We were fishing a cold front and the fish were 'off', so it was a great time to try the stuff.

Member Posts: 198 Location: Gladstone, Michigan 49837 | It is a great product, we've been using the minnows and minnow worms catching some large numbers of walleye daily. The greatest thing about the "Gulp" it probably doesn't replace live-bait but when pesty perch, alewives and goobies are ripping live crawlers every cast you can fish right through them and work on catching the walleye. Durable too, catching 5 maybe 7 fish on a single bait. Many times have hooked for example the Minnow Worm, wacky style in the middle and catching several more fish. Sorry haven't got any reports up lately, that'll change Bay de Noc followers. The walleye's are definitely getting aggressive in the past several weeks and looking for a good summer August bite. We went through a big storm this afternoon, over 3 inches of rain fell. Looks to be ending, will report our fishing results tomorrow. Hi to you Steve and all the guys, Marty

Member Posts: 15 Location: Flat Rock | May have been an incidental bite, but a pike I hooked hit on one of the Gulp worms I had carolina rigged for smallies. I bet they work on crawler harnesses really well too.

I like the Gulp products alot. I have totally substituted Gulp for most of the live bait fishing I did, except some times needing live crawlers to get the job done. Most times Gulp seems to do as well or better.
