Capt. Dan I was just trying to understand. Is it the friend that is mad at you or is it the person that used the technique? This seems only to be a variation of the slider or stacker rig and I don't see the big deal. This has been being used for years and is not a big seceret or big break thru. History seems to have a way of repeating itself and that seems to be the situation here. We all need to remember the basics from time to time.

For now, I say way to go guys that share and who has time for those that don't. ----- Keep the line tight, Johnnie Candle #42 Johnnie. Your personal status and stock options just went up on my Pro's personality board. I'll leave it to you, to determine rather that's a good or bad thing. I seldom see you or any Pro, post stuff that gives anybody a peak into your real (non-fishing) nature. Sorry about not giving you more character credits until now. History seems to have a way of repeating itself and that seems to be the situation here. We all need to remember the basics from time to time. Question. My friend was privy to both an explanation and demonstration of the technique by a Pro fisherman. I'm not sure rather the Pro swore my friend to secrecy or not. But he related the same to me, without the props. I can see where the pro who shared the info with him, would assume he gave me the O.K. to print it, which was not the case. My friends accountability with people in that status, means a great deal more to him than it does me. His anger at me is justified, even though he did not tell me to keep it under the covers. He feels I betrayed a trust, and in essence I did, for not asking him if I could spread the word. I do feel bad about it. But my friend knows that I always share info, new or old, hot or cold. I think we may have both made a mistake for not thinking it out before opening our mouths. Or at least making clear the rules of this particular sharing. I do appreciate from everyone, the logic and kind words for my angle of sharing info. But I know few of you would show and tell if indeed asked by a good friend not to. This isn't the way it went down of course, but it don't change the ending either. Edited by walleye express 8/12/2004 7:10 PM

Member Posts: 129 | I was fortunate to meet Johnnie a couple of years ago and recently had the opportunity to spend a day on the water with him. He is a class act and a TRUE Professional Fisherman in every sense of the word. He frequently contributes positive input to several fishing message boards, on his own time, for all of us to enjoy. Cap't Dan is the same type of person. A guy that loves to fish, is successful at his trade, and just wants others to experience the same type of success. It seems like Dan gets barbequed pretty frequently for a guy that's just trying to help other people. I say we need more people like Johnnie and Dan to share tactics and techniques with us. Member Posts: 580 Location: Green Bay, WI | I had a chance to meet Johnnie at the Green Bay boat this past February. He was great to talk to. I also had a chance to pre-fish with him at Bago in April, unfortunately for me I had to back out of the pre-fish. I clearly missed out on a great opportunity.

Member Posts: 2393 Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | Bob, You really did miss out. I have had the chance to fish with Johnnie and will again in the near future. He's a real class act, fun to be with, intelligent and a real gentleman. Look up Professional in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of him.

Member Posts: 580 Location: Green Bay, WI | Dennis, Johnnie did say he had some days booked with you. The time I had scheduled with Johnnie was right after the RCL at Petenwell and with the twins being only 5 months at the time, the wife was getting tired of the fishing word. If you see Johnnie up at Bay de Noc for some pre-fishing before the PWT, tell him "Hi" from the guy with the twins at the Green Bay boat show. By the way it was nice to meet you at the Bago RCL tournament.
