Trolled Crankbaits for a few hours on pool 7 and ended up with a few legal size fish biggest was 21 inches (released). Caught some eyes and sauger trolling the channel edge with leadcore and some trolling on wingdams. Black and gold remains the best color for me.

The wingdam fish were caught on the tops of the dams. Basically as Lawrence Ecklor calls it "Lawn Mower Swaths". Right over the top.

Photos:
1) Smallie yacked up this crawfish!
2) 21" walleye photo then released.
3) Finally figured out how to use the remote! After I was done catching of course!

Here's what I can tell you about the bite on pool 7. LIVE BAIT! A guy up the road from me had a 7 fish bag the other day, all caught on live bait. The 2 biggest were in the 5lb category. The sickening part is, he kept them all for the fryer. That's enough to make me barf.........

Funny that my college Running Back coach who was drafted in the 10th round in 1977 as a Quarterback by the Minnesota Vikings would dis my favorite team!

In spite of us losing to Iowa State and not scoring any points last week, I would always wear our purple/gold UNI colors with pride coach! Good luck against Minnesota State tommorrow at the UNI Dome! You could leave me some tickets and the hat at will call.

On second thought....I will probably be on the river and will catch a walleye for you.

As for you others...well sorry about the hat but I just moved back home from Packer country and the season is here and Im a Viking to the core. Long live the NFC NORTH and these great rivalries!

Trolled pool 6 around some sloughs with rocks and got some decent fish. I think the bite for the WAT will be great unless something bad happens to the river in the next couple of weeks. The ramp at the dam in tremplo looks rough. Saw 2 boats on trailers stuck with the trailers falling off the edge of the concrete in the water. I lauched at the marina above the dam.

Just checked the NOAA web site for forcasted river stages though next Tuesday. Pool 6,7,8 are suppose to double in flow by Tuesday.

http://www.crh.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/ahps.cgi?arx&genw3

Pool 6 to go from 5.98 (18687cfs) this morning to 9.30Ft (47815CFS) by Tuesday.
Tempealeau to go from 09/15 06:00 640.03Ft 26972CFS to 09/21 07:00 640.60Ft 35995CFS
and La Crosse to go from 09/15 05:00 5.47Ft 37779CFS to 09/21 19:00 6.20Ft 46099CFS

Looks like water levels will be similar to when the WAT was held in La Crosse John.

Should be interesting.

hhhhuuuummmm. Well it looks like I fished sunday for nothing. It`s my curse this year. 9 tourneys and 9 bad unstable weather days. 9 for 9. Rising water/flood stages.

Well that is going to move a few fish around. Good luck to those
competing in the tournament. The bite has been good. Hopefully
the higher water wont throw things off too much. I know the fish I have
been getting will not be where they have been.

Here is the 5 day forecast starting with Thursday 9/16.
