We froze hard the last three nights in Rhinelander with temps in the mid twenties. Water temps are plummeting, so the 'eyes will be putting on the feed bag. I'm looking forward to the weedline bite on Pelican this Fall, and a trip to little Bay.

When is the 'best' Fall bite on Bays De Noc? I'm not looking for numbers, just a big girl or two.

Temps on Saginaw Bay the other day was 63 degrees course the bay really never did get as warm as it usually does. I think I saw 78 or 79 this year. Nels

Steve:

We usually get our biggest fish from the last week of Oct until ice-up. Night fishing often gives you the best numbers but that varies year to year. Trolling anywhere there are weeds early evening and then moving to rock humps as fish get spooked out. We got our biggest fish south of Gladstone and even south of Escanaba last year. Not many boats down that way at night. Our first outing will be the last week of Oct. Big bay and Cedar River can also be hot.
