after fog lifting this morning we headed out on the water at 10 am.
Both Sharon and Curt Downing from lower Michigan were out wanting to learn more about the Bays waters and what it had to offer.
Water surface temps. running at again 56' to 59' throughout the day and what a beautiful day it was, sunny, calm winds making it almost too perfect before the upcoming weather coming in.
We spent the day live-bait rigging and jigging lead-head jigs tipped with RedTail Chubs through the day working breaklines from both the upper Bay to the lower Bay near and around the Escanaba Rivers area.
We indeed marked some good fish and missed a few good bites, we did set the hook on some. We caught a nice 24 inch walleye working the weedline break north of Hunters Point.
Smallmouth Bass did come as well on the north end flats, the biggest Bass came working breaklines south of Gladstone using both the rigs and jigs.
Bites were light in most cases and letting them have the bait was the key in landing these fish.

In talking with a number of anglers this evening after the supper hour, (I have to tell you guys having a great meal of fresh venison tenderloin a friend dropped off, with potatoes, onions and home-made bread I'm happy!)
Northern pike anglers caught a few fish as good friend, Bob from the Stonington Area caught several pike in the mid 30" range using spinnerbaits and working the weedbeds,
another friend/client of mine stopped by tonight having a catch of 7 Walleye today running harnesses and cranks combined.
With this front moving in we'll give you a report on conditions tomorrow after getting off the water,
Here are several photos of the fish caught today, "now give me a break but that Smallmouth Bass photo of mine and I was talking just a bit when the shot was taken!"
Almost forgot, a nice Perch also was taken in todays catch, 14 inches!

A great day none the less and with some great fishing friends, both Sharon and Curt,
