Location: Rhinelander | I winterized the 1690 yesterday, covered her up, and readied her for a few months rest while the NW wind whipped up leaves and took what was left of the fall color off the trees in the back yard. Later in the morning, my son Keith and I sighted in his 1948 7.62X54R he had mounted a scope on the night before. As we were driving through the back (I have a BIG back yard, 263 acres) I suggested the stand I shot my 6 out of a couple weeks ago would be hot with the rut in full swing, despite the big NW winds. We decided to move a stand we had in another location over to the 'Field Stand' tree. I'm left handed, and Keith right, so he couldn't sit in mine. We did that, and went back to the house to cut and stack a row of firewood. At about 3:15, Keith hurried out to the stand and dropped a scent line of doe-in-heat along the path into the stand, setting up one cotton ball in a shrub a bit upwind. He hardly had his bow on the peg and this bad boy came charging in from dead down wind. As he trotted by in search of the doe, Keith arrowed him perfectly after a panicked grab in his pocket for his release and a quick arrow nocked. 70 yards up this buck's rub line he dropped. Best buck he's ever shot. What a great day! Attachments ---------------- DSCN4553.JPG 2.jpg (36KB - 87 downloads)

Actually been home for the past several days and doing some spoofing around and seen 5 different Bucks today myself, one about the size of the one in the photo! Chasing the other "white-tail". Good job again, Marty
