Thanks for the explainations Rick.

I started to type my post long before it actually appeared on the thread, so much of the input both you and Juls put up prior to my post, came on line while I was typing. Sorry if my post seemed redundant when it finally made it on here.

I guess thats the price of "hunt and peck" typing skills!

It don't matter I would still have a lawyer review the rules before I compete! Sure wouldn't want the same think that happened to Kevin happen to me! Its Just Not Right!

The only waves I make are behind the boat! I am sticking to my guns until the ruling regarding Kevin and the FLW concerning his boat and the letter of the law is finalized.

I think what they did to that poor man is wrong and he should get his winnings! Big business is one thing but fess up and play by the rules, don't make them up along the way. He should have been DQ'd at take off on day one not when he is the winner on the last day!

My comment was mine and mine alone, with that kind of money at stake I would be a bit cautious before participating in an FLW event!
Good Luck

In a way the FLW is moving forward by letting any boat compete but where did the money go the money kind of took a step backwards. Before 1st was $50,000 cash plus the bonus rigged boat and now it's $40,000 cash. Why the $10,000 cut on the cash side? If you look at the numbers that Bigfoot posted all the places took cuts on the cash side.

BW,

You are right, the initial cash prize for first is smaller, but the potential for a first place finisher is now $90,000 for the first three events and $100,000 cash for the last event. Both of these are actually an improvement over the past cash payouts, if you run a Ranger and an Evinrude or Yamaha.

Also, the cash payouts dwarf those of the FLW's competition on both the pro and amateur side.

The only negative I see is the way they made the co-angler's money contingent too. I thought the idea behind being a co/amateur was to learn and compete and that you did not need a boat. Now, it seems they want the co-anglers to have one of their sponsor products for them to earn the money.

They decreased the entry for Co-Anglers and there will be a smaller field, meaning less entry fee money to work with. They did an excellent job, I really like the changes!

You are right Less Money. The fees are substantially reduced for the co's which is good.

All in all a real good deal for everybody who wants to fish the FLW.

Maybe the PWT will realize you can get sponsors to help pay the anglers who compete and support their circuit. You know, like when BASS was sold to ESPN and started to match the money available to the folks fishing their tour and matching what the FLW Bass guys were paying.
