No, I didn't invent the Ice Spikes you see in the first photo, I bought them at Franks. But did invent the spandex Helmut Ice Spike holders in the second picture. The cord attached in the original Ice Spike design, that went through and around your shoulders, was actually to short for my massive end-to-end arm length, and rendered them useless. Plus, what's usually the only thing that stays out of the water when one goes through the ice? Yup...your head. This makes them handy and easy to get at, at all times. Member Posts: 744 | Capt. Dan- Great idea, but is the ice fishing crowd that rough up there that you need to where a helmet? Just kidding. I've thought about something like that for a cellphone before. Not sure if how a phone would work once its been submerged in your coat pocket. Dave S

In all honesty, our collision death rates around hear have always been high. ![]() And I already know one guy that keeps his cell tucked into a fold in his stocking hat under his helmut, when he's traveling on the ice. ![]() No it's not me. Not enough room in my brain bucket for anything else, with the melon I got. ![]() Edited by walleye express 12/13/2004 8:46 AM
