Member Posts: 198 Location: Gladstone, Michigan 49837 | after getting much of the equipment ready along with just everyday things took a ride out on the ice south of Gladstone drilling some holes and looking for some fish. Good friend and fishing buddy, Frank Schultz also was on the ice with me today and we shared the shanty working water depths in the 30 foot range and shallow. Baits used and jigging Raps along with Nils Masters tipped with a jigging minnow. Results for us this afternoon were slow but good conversation ensued. Tell you what this new Auger Caddy really does a great job in transporting the Auger out and around making a day on the ice real enjoyable. Frank stayed out a bit longer as I had some work to take care of at the home and in a recent call telling me I hadn't missed a lot as he didn't have a strike. I did manage to talk to several anglers since being off the ice and did catch a few undersize fish and one nice fish at 20 inches. IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be a ship entering the Bay tomorrow and running up through and around the horn into Kipling. Keep an eye out fisherman and use good common sense. We'll be back out on the ice tomorrow with another report! Good luck to all, weather conditions looking like they are going to be nice all week into the weekend.
