I heard Tuffy has some new models coming out, anyone actually seen one of these, if so what do you think? Wife says I can maybe get a different rig this year and am considering fiberglass hull this time.

Thanks,

Marc

Here's a few shots of the new 1760. Completely new interior with fiberglass sealed locker storage, 8'5" rod storage incorporating battery and charger mounting under the rod locker bulkhead in a center loading, LED lit, sealed locker, gas tank moved forward 4', new 52" rear LED lit livewell, BIG front deck, lots of very dry storage in those new lockers, 36 gallon fuel tank, polyflake liner, new easy to access livewell and bilge area, tons of rear cockpit room. The new 2060 is ready, and the 1700 is nearing completion. Price is the same as last year's Osprey, so with all the improvements there isn't a price increase.

More pictures soon!

I had the chance to drive this very same 1760 on thursday afternoon. All I can say is, wow. If you are thinking of a new boat for 2005, you better take the time out to look over the new tuffy's. The world has changed 180 degrees.

I can't agree more! I still have a very fond place in my heart for Tuffy and my very first glass boat, a hybrid Esox/Maurader....basically a custom build (interior and colors) at the time. Some guy named Worrall and another named Kaczkowski got me into the rig.....and I have never regretted anything other than I sold it.........

The boats look better than ever!

As for the changes, check this out.... http://www.tuffyboats.com/redesign.asp The guy who did the site for 2005 really did an awesome job, dontcha think?

The 1760 Osprey hull was/is extremely smooth and fast. It tames rough water easily. I'm anxious to climb through the new version too.

I took a long look at the new Tuffy Osprey 2060 at the Minneapolis boat show. I currently run a 2001 -1990 Osprey which for the most part I'm happy with. The changes on the new hull are positive, however a fair amount of storage space was given up in the redesign of this model. Rod storage is nice with the individual storage tubes but you lose some dual use of this space in the process. The new rear livewell is a huge improvement on function and open floor space . Well done! The access door to pumps is also a huge improvement. Tuffy has also made improvements in seating and hardware which are fitting for a top of the line boat. Changing the location of the fuel tank to a more forward position was also overdue as the older version is heavy in the stern which was further aggrivated by the use of jackplates to allow the older hull to perform at top speeds.Overall I believe the new hull is a step forward and only a small step back with lost storage space. We all have different needs in a boat so give the Tuffy a serious look to see if it works for you.
