Hey Guys, I am going to school at UW-Platteville and am new to the area. I am used to fishing the Winnebago system growing up in Menasha, so I was just wondering if you guys could fill me in on the details. What pool is this considered, are there any places that I could catch some decent fish from shore, and what seems to work best in this neck of the woods. I was looking for someone to take me out as a guide, but I don't exactly have lots of money to spend on a guided trip. Let me know whats up, and hopefully I will be able to help you guys out in the future. Thanks Again Lance

I got out fishing on the Mississippi for the first time today, and all in all it was a decent day. I fished the old dam with a jig/twister tail, and a slip bobber with a minnow. Ended up with 25 bass, 4 Whitebass, and a small Northern. I saw two boats fishing up at the dam for eyes I am assuming, but could not tell if they were doing any good. Most of the bass were 10-12", with one nice smallmouth that was 18". Does anyone know of any other spots I could try from shore that I could catch some eyes or sauger? Thanks ahead of time! muskyman65

I was out once again last week and had similar results at the closing dam, but instead of Largemouths, I really hammered the White Bass! I bet I caught 50, just about every cast with a jig and twister tail. I also caught a few nice Northerns and Crappies as well. The water really came up, and there were 4 boats fishing the area. I wish I had a boat so I could target some eyes! ![]()

Member Posts: 166 Location: Freedom, WI | Does anyone ice fish in the Cassville area? Are there any backwaters that have decent Pike or Panfish action? Also, does anyone know the ice conditions up by the dam? Thanks for the help!
