Location: Rhinelander | Sue and I headed out to a lake known for eater Northerns this afternoon looking for enough to make a meal of Poor Man's Lobster for tonight. The tip-ups were popping all day, and we ended up with 4 keepers out of 17 flags. The gills were absent, but the MarCum was full of uncooperative crappies all day. We got 5, all small. Had a great time! Member Posts: 2567 Location: Manitowoc, WI | Made it on the ice today for only the second time all winter. My desire to icefish isn't what it used to be. We had a pretty good day too. Dan Plautz, Pat Schuette, his son Ethan, my son Brandon and I caught about 30 walleye ranging in size from 15-23". Every fish was caught on tipups, some with Golden Shiners and some with Emerald Shiners. Biggest fish of the day went to Pat with a 23" fish. Today's fishing will be shown on Midwest Adventures sometime in the future, airing on The Outdoor Channel or Fox Midwest Sports Channel. When I get a date confirmed, I'll let you all know.

Member Posts: 340 Location: McFarland, WI | Fished one of the Madison lakes Friday and Saturday in the beautiful sun and warmth. Marked fish 5 feet thick just off the bottom in 32 feet all day. After running through the bait box I finally found two baits that the crappies and perch couldn't resist. A # 14 pink white and black striped spitzfire with glow back and a #14 ratfinkie with glow head and salmon colored body. Both tipped with spikes. Same baits in different colors fished by several people were worthless so you won't ever convince me color is not important. Good day to run the Optimax for its monthly warmup so it's ready for open water. Half time fish fry tonight.

Location: Rhinelander | Well, it's back to Winter now, temp is 19 degrees here and destined to fall. I'm thinking I might get out tomorrow evening if I get caught up enough in the office!
