Location: Fond du Lac, Wi | Looking at buying new rods and reels this year. any suggestions on rods and reels. Looking at the sealine sg17lca or the sg27lca-w. Any info would be nice. There are alot of good sticks on this board and would like to hear what you all recommend.

Location: Byron, IL | You are pretty much right on by looking into the Diawa SG27 LCA's...Those are what I have been using for the past 7 years or so and they have not failed me yet...
I think you'll find that will be the general consensus as I know many trollers use those. I am sure there are other brands that may be worth checking out as too. The Diawa 27's seem to be the best though...
As far as rods, I use the Walleye Angler's Series Trolling Rods. 8'6" and they are telescopic. I have also used the Gander Guide series rods, but I feel that they are too "soft" for trolling boards. |

Location: Devils Lake, ND | Try the Berkley Lightning Rods. These are great allaround trolling rods and are easy to find if ou ever want to matchthem at a later date.
As for Reels, go for the Scheels Outfitter Line Counter. They are built by Diawa, and a little cheaper. One look at them and you will know what reel they are.
