I have a truck slide in camper and tow a 20' alum deep vee backtroller boat. I live in Il and want to come up for the white bass run. This would be our first time up. When would be the best time to come up and where is a good place to camp and launch the boat. Maybe something on the water with a ramp and easy access. Thank you for any information you could give us. Again Thank you

Member Posts: 194 Location: Northern Illinois | It sounds like your talking about the Freemont Area and Wolf River WB run. Some of the Wisc guys can help you with that. If not, a neat area to camp and fish is on the Mississippi River in the spring or summer. Say around Savanna.

Visit my website http://www.wolfrivercountry.com there are a few places listed as are the local chambers of commerce Blue Top is one of my favorites! Beautiful! Mid May is most popular as Mother's day is usually around peak but Mother Nature has held the best fishing off until June and heated fishing up first week of May too so availability is the key. Plenty of people here and on my site to help you find fish no matter when you visit. Edited by Joel "Doc" Kunz 2/14/2005 1:45 PM

Member Posts: 363 Location: Kaukauna WI | TKCENTERLINE When I was a kid we came up every year from Addison and Wheaton IL. At that time we stayed at place called Bill and Shirley’s resort which is now closed and houses are up instead. But across the street is Triangle Farm campground they have bait, sites close to water and a nice luanch (sometimes you get even a local folk hero in Tuffe that was on John Brantmier show in Late 80's and early 90's working their). They are just south of Fremont and just north or Poygan by 7 miles. One thing nice is just out front you can catch white bass or go down to Orahla 3 miles south or go to the new 10 bridge east side. Pitch to rocks with 3 ways and shiner. You can also pick up eyes here at time also and white bass. Email me if I can assist further.
