Looking for a few tips on what you all do to keep your crawlers in top presentation form during the season.

I keep my nightcrawlers in a styrofoam cooler. Line the cooler with newspaper and them fill it with Buss bedding. Mix up the bedding according to the directions so you don't get it too wet. Keep them in a refrigerator at about 40 degrees. Over time the bedding my take on moisture. If it gets too wet, dump it out and reline the cooler with dry newpapers. The newspaper will soak up the excess moisture. I've kept nightcrawlers all year like this.

If you are keeping crawlers throughout the season...

Take a stash of crawlers and keep them in ice water. You eliminate bedding mess all over the boat and on yourself, plus the crawlers will be nice and swelled. Put them on a harness and they will strech out nicely in the warmer lake/river water...

Take what you will use...don't put the ice water crawlers back in bedding...they will end up ruining the remainder...
