Location: Appleton WI | My dad is looking at buying one of the 2 rods and was wondering what everyone's opinion on them was. He is looking at the SJR722 or any of the legend tournament series.

Thanks,

Location: Rockford MN | What is he looking to do with the rod? The IMX 722 is a fairly stiff rod. I use mine for jigging 5/8 oz jigs on the river. |

Location: Rockford MN | I think he would like the IMX 782 a little more. The 782 is a better all around rod that he could use for other things as well. I use my 721 IMX rods more than the 722, because the 722 is only better on the heavy jigs. If he is only looking for a jig rod I would get the 721 IMX first then 782.

Location: Fergus Falls, MN | The 722's equivalent in St. Croix would be the 60MLF. Although I feel St. Croix's ML's are slightly less powerful than the 2-power Loomis'.

If strictly verticle jigging, a 6 footer is a fine choice. If doing work out away from the boat, I'd opt for the 6'6". |
