Location: Rhinelander | I watched ESPN Bass Center this morning and listened to the debate over the proposals from BASS next year and the reformed Professional Angler's Association. This is interesting stuff, and might be good reference material for Pro Walleye anglers in the future. B.A.S.S is not recognizing the PAA according to reports today, and has announced that the PAA is unnecessary. I think B.A.S.S could look to the Walleye Industry, even though it is MUCH smaller, to see how the NPAA and the Tournament organizations interact for the betterment of the Sport, the SPonsors, and the Industry. The debate was created by BASS planning new larger fields and larger payouts, and allowing qualification to B.A.S.S from other circuits including FLW. Mr. Landahl, what do you think?

Instead of having a "long" look... everybody focuses on "today".... what's in it for me, now... That won't work... Although I don't think any circuit has formally acknowledged the NPAA... I think there is some ability for the future to hold good things in regard to formal cooperation.

The NPAA speaks regularly at the PWT rules meetings. They were featured on the PWT TV this past season. I think quite a few of the circuits recognize and work with the NPAA

Member Posts: 164 | I am very supportive of what the PAA is attempting to accomplish and hope they gain the industry support the NPAA has. Regarding the NPAA being recognized by walleye tournament circuits we most certainly are. We are also very welcome at their events. The two pro walleye circuits, the FLW Walleye Tour and the PWT provide table space for us at their events to support our anglers when we request it of them. The PWT also welcomes members of the NPAA to speak at their rules meetings to inform anglers of what's been happening with the NPAA. The top walleye team circuit in the country, the MWC, also provides space at their events when we request it of them. All three of the above mentioned circuits are very supportive and are always willing to work with the NPAA and its anglers. We have worked long and hard to develop such strong and cordial relationships with these organizations. In addition the WWA is a Supporting member of the NPAA. Dave Landahl Half Swede Inc. Member Posts: 794 Location: Elgin, Illinois | Dave... My comment was probably poorly worded... I do not think that there has been any formal recognition of the NPAA (similar to Union representation)... But, I believe in time even that may evolve... I am not an expert on the matter by any means. I am aware that the relationship to many of the circuits is very good and that communication and support is mutual... The Bass Pros hope and want the PAA to have a formal "recognition" agreement, that is what I was trying to contrast... And, at the moment BASS states it sees no reason for the PAA. So, I heartily agree that the relationship between the Walleye Circuits and the NPAA is much better than the PAA and BASS. And, that at the moment the PAA has a longer trip than they want...
