i purchased one of these for use as a bow mount this spring. i'm looking for suggestions for the initial setup that may help to reduce the learning curve. does anyone have a good setup for river fishing that they would like to share? i spend most of my river time on the detroit in depths from 10 - 40 fow.
thanks a bunch.

Are you asking how to set the sonar up as in mounting it, or the initial electronics settings preferred?

i was looking for info on the set up of the electronics, however, i had major problems with the unit over the weekend and retured it. i have a new x-102c coming from reed's to replace it. i wont be looking for 480 info any more. if anyone has experience with a 102 i'm all ears, er, eyes.
thanks

You are going to love the X-102. Color units are the way to go these days. The 102 will run itself, its one of the few units that you can run in "Auto" mode. In shallow water say 5' or less you might have to run it in man... because the power will most likely give you a double echo. You will love the color, its so easy to read the different bottoms as well as fish on the bottom. Great choice enjoy you're new unit!
