Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Was out to Hoyles Marina Wednesday afternoon picking out my new boat slip for this summer. This was a tough decision on my part, because Lindy's has treated me quit well during my 6 years running my charters out of their marina in Quanicassee. But the fishing trends the last couple of years has made the West side of the Bay the place to be during most of the summer season. Not only because of the best fishing spots, but the wind trends themselves cut into my scheduled trips last year.
Anyway, while I was out looking at the slips, I talked to a guy fishing off one of the docks. He had 3 Gobi's in his pale that he was going to euthanize when he got done fishing. I pulled one out of his pale and was amazed all over again just how much this little rascal looked like the ones that Dave Storm of Dave's Ka'Boom lures was making. It was the spitting image of the Blue Goby. And by the way, Franks Great Outdoors has just added these to their on-line order catalog. I promised I'd keep everybody informed when they did, so take a look at all four colors of the Goby patterns and get your orders in before the warm water season starts. And if you get a chance at Hoyles this summer during all the tournaments, stop by my boat and say hi. You won't be able to miss it from the back.

Location: Rhinelander | What's the salesman's name up there selling boats at Hoyles? Man what a brain fart, can't remember his name. Jim, me thinks... Great guy, and a dedicated deer hunter, too. |

Location: Essexville, MI./Saginaw Bay. | Jim Dedrich is the name. Have known Jim for years and fished with him quit a few times on both hard and soft water. And he is indeed the glue that holds the Hoyles empire together. He's the perfect blend of business man and fair common sense that that business needed, to stay together after some (lets say) rough legal roads over the years. |
