Subject: 2005 Fort Fremont Marine Walleye Classic Report

Location: Rhinelander

A full field of 50 boats left Fort Fremont Marine this morning on the famous Wolf River in central Wisconsin in near freezing temps and winds gusting at 30 miles per hour. Despite the cold temps and water and huge winds, several limits were brought to the scale. Three teams tied for sixth place! Ties were the theme of the event, as you will see from the picture of the leaderboard below. First place and a check for $1000 went to McPeak and Korth with 7.6 pounds. A tie for second and third also effected the scoring. Ties were setteled by coin toss for the trophies placement, and the money from the tied places was combined and split evenly.

This is a very well run and enjoyable event, according to the anglers attending the awards ceremony and dinner after the weigh-in. A MotorGuide 24 volt motor donated by MotorGuide and assorted Mercruy branded itmes donated by Mercury Marine were given away as door prizes. Denny Fox and Chris Gasser teamed to MC the event.
