I was checking out some of the finishes for some of the guys in the WWR. I noticed alot of them have events still listed from 2002 and some do not. How does this work? Is it a measure over a three year rolling window or over less time? Shouldn't everyone be measured over the same amount of time? Thanks buddy. |

Location: Rockford MN | I think its cause some people have yet to fish a 2005 event ie PWT East??? So until they start there 2005 year they can only go by what they have done in the past 2 years which would be 2002-2004>
Maybe I'm wrong, its a system that has me wondering how it works. I like the fact that they have a ranking system, I'm just not totally sure how it works. |

| The description of the WWR says that it is 100% dynamic and it is updated after each RCL and PWT event. There has been 2 FLW events and 1 PWT event already and no update. |

| It is dynamically generated but there is still alot of proofing that needs to happen before the results are published (duplicates etc). The rankings are also "integrated" meaning that if you have an error in one of the previous 2 rankings then those have to be recompiled in sequential order. We have a couple of tournament omissions we are recompiling for anglers over the past week
The reason you see 2002 tourneys ... the rankings are based upon 2 + 2, that is 2 years plus 2 events. The current rankings reflect through year end 2004, so you will see alll off 2004, all of 2003, and 2 events from 2002.
We wanted to get the first update in prior to the last FLW, but it did not fit into our schedule for the same reasons we did not provide coverage of the Erie event, prior commitments. That means this will be the update week. I believe we announced that late last week sometime. When possible we try to double up, that is update a PWT and FLW in one shot, mostly as a time saver.
There should be some pretty interesting movement in the rankings this week, according to the what I'm looking at now. Look for the official update by week's end. |
