I am in the market to buy a 90 hp Evinrude to replace the one I currently have. I have a 1985 and would be looking for something similar to replace it with. The lower unit and the trim went out on my current motor (last wek), and I am assuming I would be better off trying to replace the motor than repairing it. Any suggestions on what a motor like that would run? Anyone have one laying around they want to sell? Thanks, Dave S

Dave,

I made some calls in the Fox Valley area a few weeks ago looking for a used 90-115 hp motor for my boat. I have found the cheapest at around $1,200 for a motor that was an early 90's model Evinrude. I also found some nice 115's for around $2,500-$3,000, some were only 3-4 years old.

I'd really like to get a new E-tec 90 for my boat, but the motor at $4,500-$4,800 is almost more than my 1991 Smokercraft Fazer is worth!!

Good luck to you in your search, I'd try Riverside in N.L. and Amherst Marine as well.
