So....what kind of weight do you think
it will take to win the tournament? 45lbs?

I think that you are very close. This could be the year to see a two day weight between 45 and 50 pounds.

This, as always will be weather dependent. It all depends on what the thunderstorms do the next few days and during the tournament. If the weather stays hot and the storms are not severe this will be the year of the big fish.

Stormy weather and my guess drops to 38 pounds.

I'm curious, too! hehehe

I don't have a clue this year. I surely won't predict what I'm going to weigh!

There is not a big secret here. The mud was spotty until last weekend. Unless there are some REALLY bad storms (which there could be) it will take over 50lbs for sure. I am curious to see how the crowds affect the bite in this clearer water.

I can tell you one thing for sure, those mud fish hate crowds! I have had some great days, catching lots of 15 to 20 inch fish, but not many big fish? I plan on putting six of them in the box, then try for the kicker fish. Wheather the plan works or not,who knows till this weekend.Do the best you can,and even if the fish don't cooperate, you did nothing to be ashamed of.Some days things work out great and others not so good. Good luck to all you guys, see you on stage(Hopefully).hafe

P.S. I'de rather be lucky than good this weekend!

There's storms forcasted for everyday the next 6 days in row. There will 300boats from merc. on the water, poeple prefishing and the liesure fisherman there will be tons of boats. To pull 25lb plus 2 days in a row would be a monumental task and its hasnt been done for along time on winnabago during a tourny. I predict 44lbs will win it

Do you think the winning weight will come from Winnebago or upriver?

I think the winning weight will be right around 40#

Good Luck to everyone fishing. I will be watching closely.

Over.

I think it'll be tough to get 20+ two days in a row.....Assuming it's a 5 fish limit.. I'm gonna go with 36#'s for the win.

Good Luck to everyone from WF doing the Merc!!

How about a listing those who are in? I think Shep, Little Nephew, Shenk and his wife, Dale and his wife, Hafe....... are all in. Who else?

It'll be fun to watch and see how ya' all do.

Hafe, how bad was the tornado?

I still think that this is the year for the big fish. Someone will be on a pod of "bigums". I agree that two days in a row will be the question.

Again, good luck!!

Nope, we're not in. We've got Yamaha motors. We'll be fishing Otter Street and MWC. We'll be out this weekend too. Good Luck to all. 36 lbs.

Most of the guys with the big weights said they were trolling spinners in the mud, not a real big suprise there. There were also a few guys with some decent baskets that said they pulled them out of the canes.
