My son Brian and his wife Sarah both have new careers in Ashland, WI, and are moving into their new home this weekend. Since Ashland is only a couple hours away, I'll be visiting there regularly. What opportunities are there for quality walleye fishing up that way?

sworral the apostole island area and bayfield are good for walleyes during june /july and the many rivers are great for trout and salmon in spring and fall.

Check out the Kakogan Sloughs......I believe they're near the Ashland area on Lake Superior. Used to be a great bite there in June/July but I haven't heard anything the last few years.

I fished just west of there many times (my Sister lives in POPLAR and Maple area) I ran many fast track and DJ along the mud lines and caught many nice fish. My personal best walleye came from up thier a 14.5 2 years ago.

I will look to see if I have any more and email to you on were Log and lag can assist you with plus I have a bud that is a guide up there so I talk to him also in next week. For I need to go up and look at deer stands in Maple.

Jayson i have fished the apostle island mid summer and we slaughtered the walleyes and bass. Same program as on the bay of gb. Just working the islands structures. In late june we worked 5-15 ft areas.

Brian closed on his house today in Ashland, and he's moving in as I type this. Looks like I'll be fishing that area some! Thanks for the information, anyone else?
