Yes, I have seen the boat up close. It is 21.5 feet, 96 inch and weighs in at about 2400 pounds. The hull is from their salt water line. The front deck is about the same as the 205, except it has a baitwell up front. In the back there is one very big livewell and storage where the livewells were before. The boat has exceptional storage, huge rod locker and a lot of space in back for trolling and personal. I will be rigging mine with a 225 opti, others are rigging with the 250SX. The top end speed with the 250 should be in the middle sixties. I know they have already had it up to 65 GPS MPh with the 250. The boat is out of hole in a flash. I am expecting about the same speed as my 205 with the 225 opti, about 56-58 on my GPS. It is not about the weight, it is all in the hull design. Any more questions you can drop me a line. Good Luck Doug

OTWADOUG, I know that I just posted that message last night, but I could not handle it. I
went out today and got one(215x). I didn't go with the 250 because Triton won't package
the boat with one so it would have costed me another $2,800, so I went with the 225opti.
They told me 8 weeks so now the wait begins. Thanks for repling to my post, and let me know
how you boat is when you get it. [email protected]

I went to the factory last week to see my boat in process. Boy was impressed! the
staff was awesome and my boat was about 1/2 done. Carpet in no dash etc. I also
Capt. Dougs boat in two pieces right behind mine.(PS thats where he normally is when we fish too)
The new 215 should be the boat all walleye boats will be measured. Triton appears
to have listened to the right people and built an awesome boat. Thay also said they
are coming out with a new 17' and 19' shortly. I too cannot wait!
Dg
PS I took some pictures at the factory if you are interested.

I have looked at the new 215 and I love the new hull but I do not like the changes they made in the layout. The baitwell and drop-in rod locker being my two biggest dissapointments. Gary Gray pulled up next to me in Winneconne the other day and the ol' 205 just could not compete. The hole shot was excellent and the top end was amazing. I heard the 19' might have a 225 max also. If it does, it will probably be my next boat. Triton makes some great boats and I am sure you will love your 215. Congrats.

Duk, Finally got my 215X. It's huge! Still playing with props. Had a 25 pitch 4 blade and couldn't even get on plane, too much blo-by. Tried a 24 pitch 3 blade and runs great, but right at 5900 rpms. Got 63 mph (gps) with the 3 blade 24 pitch. Going to try a 3 blade 25 pitch with big hub. I'm thinking it should get to the mid 60's mph range. Your going to love it. If you have any luck with props, please post.

Good luck

JVB, I'm running a 250 Evinrude. Got in on the 7 year warrantee. I ran a 225 opti on my last boat (triton 205) and had lots of problems.

JS, I got the boat last thursday, and I tried a few props, and I settled on a Predator 24. It has a great hole shot and I am getting about 64mph.
I was not able to run long distances, or go on the rpm's because the salesman was with me, but i'm sure that I will get mid 60's. I also removed
two bushings from the prop. Hope that helps.

DUK,

3 or 4 blade? Are you running high rpm's? I've got a 3 blade 24 on the 250 evinrude and I"m right at 6,000 rpm.

I have a 215X with a 250 Verado, man what a sweet setup. I know alot of guys want nothing
to do with an Opti, the verado is a great alternative to the Opti. 62mph on the GPS with a tourny load. I bet a 250 Honda or Yamaha wouldn't come close.
