| Months ago I volenteered to be help out with the pwt championship here in Ks. I just got my conformation in the mail today and I'm scheduled to be an boat observer for the 3 days. Just would like to know if any of you have done this in the past or have any suggestions or stories.

Congrats on being chosen. Getting to share a boat with a PWT pro in the championship will be fun and, depending on your level of fishing aptitude, a good learning experience.
As an observer, you will be given orientation by JK and stafff on what you can and can't do. Mostly, you will be able to net the fish and observe what the pros do. I had three great guys with me last year and we had a great time. My day one partner had fished Portage Lake his enitre life and never fished it the way I did, so he learned abouit shallow water spinners. Same with my day two guy. I had an outdoor writer for day three and he served me a typical dinner on the water for the area. Great time and great company. |

Location: Devils Lake, ND | One thing you can do to help, is be positive. Over the years I have fished a few Championships and it is easy to understand why the observer can get, lets say, down in the face.
I fished at Houghton and the bite was tough (first time there). I had three observers that were the best cheerleaders money could buy. If they only looked like the ones from Dallas.  It kept me in the game till the end because they wouldn't let me quit. It helped a ton.
Be positive, have fun, dress appropriate, and bring enough food.
