Location: Appleton | Congratulations and THANKS to all 80 teams that fished the MWS Menominee, MI tournament. I was pleased to get positive comments through the day from the Non tournament boaters in the marina. Several asked when the boats were going to leave for the tournament. When I told them that you had left at 6:30 they could not believe they did not hear anything. The entire TFM crew appreciates your professional actions.
It was beautiful day for the start of the tournament. Later in the day the winds picked up particularly to the south. We had some great weights with thirty teams weighing a four fish limit. The winners trolled with crawler harnesses with no one specific color providing more success. The teams all stated that they tried various colors and presentations to get their fish.
The team of Randy Vande Zande and Dave Palecek took first place with four fish weighing 32.76# winning them $4,200. Second place went to the team of Nick Gaede and Josh Hafner with four fish totaling 30.28# for $2,000. Third place went to the team of Steve Bodinger and Dan Bodinger with four fish weighing 30.20# for $1,000. Fourth place went to the team of Brian Deffner and Bill Schoepke with four fish totaling 29.48# for $700. They also had the big fish of the tournament with a 10.20# walleye. Fifth place went to the husband/wife team of Lee and Brenda Georgenson with four fish weighing 29.28# for $350.
Current Team of the year is Jim Tiemann and Deborah Ojala with 320 points. Second place team of the year is Lee and Brenda Georgenson with 305 points. Current husband/wife Team of the year is Lee and Brenda Georgenson. Second place for husband/ Wife team of the year is Ron and Vickie Goldapdske only 20 point below Lee and Brenda. Current parent/child Team of the year is Erv and Pat Schuette with 280 point. Clarence and Casey Bohn are second with 269 points. The last stop will be Escanaba September 11 is going to be very interesting with the point’s race as close as it is this year.
