Location: OSHKOSH, WI | I thought I would get the post going that would definitely get going anyway. I heard a few whitebass are already being caught. It seems to be a few weeks early though. It seems that the spring hatch must have been crazy due to Bago and the whole system have an abundance of the 4" fish swimming around. More years of quality fishing to come and I am sure the walleyes are fattening up too. That bite should pick up towards the end of the this month. Usually mouth of Poygan up to fremont is a good bet. I rented a boat last year from a bait shop in Fremont and he was very helpful with giving advice. I forget the name of the baitshop, but basically he set a boat up for me even though he was through renting them out. The next feww months should be great. Bob |

| I am not logged in now, but with the hot weather you can bet that this run will be delayed. We need a longer cold front to come through. Caught a few walleyes on flies in Fremont. THE FLY |

| Heard of catches in the 100's on the lower end of the system. |

Location: OSHKOSH, WI | I have been catching a couple nice ones on the Fox by Bago on flies. Good size and fat, but not very much in numbers. With this coldspell coming through it should really push the fish into the river. |

| Boat traffic in Fremont over the weekend turned the fish off big time on Saturday from what I heard and experienced there Saturday afternoon. Lots of dinks. Caught baby white bass all the way to New London on Sunday morning walleye fishing. The cool off and more water should be good for fall fishing.

| Well it looks like the white bass are not going to show this year in any numbers other then the young of the year that showed up in huge numbers. Just think what fishing is going to be like in a few years. Not sure if populations like that can put a hurt on walleye numbers. The system used to have a fairly defined swing from one dominant "run" fish to the other. Can the forage base support huge year classes of both??? Time will tell. Should be some BIG white bass around next spring if you can get a minnow past a 5 incher. |
