That's the guy who shot the 6 Wisconsin deer hunters last year when they asked him to leave their property.

Amazing to watch the opening statement and then the c ommentary of "talking heads" trying to make it a case of racism... Obviously the jury didn't buy the defense's theory... Guilty verdict in like four hours...

Location: Rhinelander | This one touched close to home for me. I own 260 acres in Northern Wisconsin, and walk out my back door to hunt. We've had numerous trespassers, most just accidental Idonthaveacluewhereiamat, but occasionally one will get real nasty. We had a fellow take three shots at us a few years back after booting him off the land, found the shell casings and everything, but the local law folks didn't do much about it despite we knew who the fellows were, there were 4 of them and the law couldn't tell who fired the rounds. My son heard the snap as that '06 round went by, that's fairly close. It's a land owners worst nightmare to have a beligerant trespasser, and this guy was the worst. I am persoanlly glad they hit the guy hard, it sends a clear message. Race is irrelevant, the guy was obviously guilty of multiple murders, and over a deer stand he wasn't suppposed to be anywhere near. I still feel horrible for the loss of life.

Its if he had every right to kill 6 people, 5 of which were not even armed, including one woman. I also can't believe they showed the actual police scene video of the people laying dead on the trail near their 4 wheelers when they first arrived at the scene. It gives you the perspective of just how sensless and sick this whole thing was. Edited by walleye express 10/4/2005 7:45 AM

He needs to be strapped to a tree and let family members of the victims take shots at him from 600 yards away. Then let the crows pick at his flesh. Life in prison is too good for this scum.

He is currently being investigated in 2 other similar murders, one in WI and one in MN. You should have read the editorial in the Milwaukee Urinal from a friend of Vang's. The upshot was that he was reacting to the racism that he had been exposed to.

He sat unemotional (seemingly unmoved) by the jury's decision when it was read. His life sentence starts immediately. I got a little insight into why he acted the way he did throughout the trail when his family made their Press statements at the end of the trail. None of them thought he did anything wrong let alone was guilty, and seemed to think he did exactly what anybody would have done in his place. In fact his sister mentioned she was proud of what he did and how he did it. Then blamed Terry Willer for his own daughters death, when she tried (and because) she tried to come to his aide. I'm sure all of this displaced support by Vangs family, only reinforced in him that he indeed had done nothing wrong. I found myself very mad and outraged as one by one the Vang family spouted the same rhetoric, and had not one word of sympathy for any of the deceased members family. She also blamed our white society and white rules and laws. None of the deceased families uttered one cylable about the Mung people, or their own strange/different rules, laws and culture. I'll say this. The Mung people came here to be safe and live free under asylum, because the North Vietcong were going to kill them for helping us in the Vietnam war. They were not brought here on slave ships and forced to conform to our way of life. Our self defense laws are pretty clear. And if the only person to be shot was Terry Willer, as he was the only other person holding a gun at the scene, Vang might have been found innocent. That fact alone might have given some credence to his story of feeling trapped by 8 crazy/prejudice white people. But the shooting and/or killing of everybody else in sight, (all unarmed and some in the back), transcends an act of self defense 1000 times over in my eyes.
