| Just wondering what everyone uses. Also, when is the best time to go to Little Bay De Noc and ice fish?
Thanks Bob |

Location: Menasha, WI | I spool most of my reels with P-Line -- #3 for panfish and #4 for my walleye rods. It holds up well and it has the "invisibility" advantages of Vanish but isn't as stiff & brittle and doesn't coil as much. I also have one rod spooled with #10 Power Pro for jiggin northerns.

| Thanks Viking, but what is P Line? I was thinking Power Pro? How does that work in the cold? |

Location: Chilton | LBDN walleye season closes at the end of February, so don't schedule a trip in March. Any time in Feb. can be good, the weather will dictate more than the date. The last weekend before it closes will generally be the busiest on the ice, especially if Mother Nature cooperates. Have at it.

| Seaguar Micro Ice is another good choice.

P-Line is a brand name flourocarbon line similar to Vanish, but is less stiff, brittle, and has less memory. While the sensitivity of PowerPro might have its advantages in deep water applications, for my shallow water ice-fishing I don't like the braids. I often fish on the move in the cold and the braided lines tend to collect water and freeze. I also the think visibility of PowerPro is a disadvantage as well. As I mentioned before, the one situation that I like to have PowerPro is if I'm specifically targeting northerns or they happen to be in the area I'm fishing. If I were fishing for perch or eyes in water over 30' I would also probably go with PowerPro but attach a P-line lead. |
