Please post here when you find there is enough ice on local waters you fish or drive by or whatever. It'll be a nice way for those south of the ice line to see when things are frozen up.

Our area waters are at 41 to 43 degrees. We are forcast to get 8" of snow, which will cool things down fast. I suspect we will see ice cover on some Oneida County waters here in Wisconsin by the end of next week.

My pond (20 acres) has been frozen since Tuesday. Most of the lakes in the Brainerd area have quite a bit of ice on them but you can't safely walk too far out on it yet.

Cranberry Lake Vilas co. froze over 11/21 with a good 1/2 inch of ice. We'll test it again on 11/26

i live in mid michigan. i hunt and panfish the northern lower. got about 8 inches of snow up there today. most ponds and parts of smaller lakes are frozen. not near enough ice to even think about fishing yet.

saginaw bay is in the mid to upper 30's right now, so we have awhile yet. i cant wait, im getting the bug already.

good luck hunting and hit the open water before ice up!

Ice has formed on most waters here, with safe ice on VERY small waters only, and that is a bit testy. I expect safe ice on the medium lakes by early next week, and big waters after another below zero night.

The wolf river froze up last night. There is no open water here in front of Fort Fremont and it seems rather "Sturdy". Its cold now and I am sure it is making Ice as I write this. I will try a spud in it saturday and see what we have.

guys getting out on saginaw bay for perch this weekend. they caught some perch in 8-10 inches of water on an inch of ice. the ice was located in smaller coves protected from the wind. lots of small fish. not enough ice yet, unless you like a wet foot. after tonight and tomorrows rain the ice is gonna be gone anyway. another cold front on the way, so ice is coming.

Cranberry Lake in Vilas Co was walkable on the 26th but heavy rain on the 27th changed that to slush. I saw a lot of open water in Vilas County on the 27th so good ice will be delayed awhile. I did have an inch of ice on Lake Waubesa when I got home tonight. It only went out about 40 feet but that made getting my dock out a real pain. The sections are ice coated so I hope it warms up to melt that off so I can stack it. Boats were out so the launch is still open.

I saw a guy out on Mille Lacs in Isle Bay this past weekend, brave soul if you ask me. With the whole lake wide open and just the bay frozen, I would have waited a little longer to venture out I guess.

Last nighton Devils Lake a sunset there were 6 inch waves. This morning, ice. If the wind stays down for a day or two, I am sure someone will try walking on it.

Won't be me, I don't hate 'em that much.

I would be glad to give ice conditions and fishing reports. All you have to do is ask.

Read a report on another board that there is 3 to 5 inches on LBDN, with shanties already set up.

About 10" on a local lake here by Rhinelander today. The panfish were so active I could only run one rod much of the late afternoon. Had a blast!

Devils Lake is reporting 9 to 10 inches overmost of the lake. I have yet to see a vehicl on the ice, but I am sure it will not be long now.

There have been some early reports of moderate perch catches, but the pike are biting like mad. The limit is 5 on DL and it is taking only an hour for a limit.

I hope to get out this weekend, weather permitting.

9" of snow has fallen over the last two days, so the ice will form much more slowly as a result of the insulation. Be careful out there!
