Member Posts: 885 | Anyone have any helpful hints on how to clean and lube a Sealine linecounter. I have 9 that are 1 year old and several of them make a bit of noise when cranking. I also noticed that on a couple of them, the return lever will only go 1/2 way back in both directions. Any suggestions or web site direction would be greatly appreciated. I tried the Daiwa website, but there is nothing on keeping them cleaned and lubed. Purple Skeeter | ||

| Purple Skeeter, In regards to the clicking / sticking lever on the SG's,you can contact Diawa and get some new Rachets look at this Hope This Helps!! Paul Daiwa SG17LCA Repair Detailed Instructions for Anti-Reverse Ratchet Replacement If you've got one of the new Daiwa 17's and find the clutch slips or becomes stuck you may need to replace the Anti-Reverse Ratchet. You can call, email, or write Daiwa for free replacement ratchets. The only problem is they don't tell ya how to replace them! Below is a detailed step-by-step on just how to do that. Click on the small pictures to open up a larger detailed image in a pop-up window. What you'll need: A New Clutch Washer 10mm Wrench Small Phillips Screwdriver Split Ring Pliers Daiwa SG17LCA Reel Anti-Reverse Ratchet Replacement - Gear Articles - Quest Outdoors Step-byStep instructions on how to fix that faulty anti-reverse ratchet on your Diawa SG series reel Step By Step GO HERE http://www.questoutdoors.net/cgi-bin/search/search.cgi Start by removing the Handle Nut Plate Screw and the Handle Nut Plate. Next using a 10mm wrench remove the Handle Nut. Remove the Star Drag by spinning it counter clockwise off the Drive Shaft. Make sure that you don't loose the 2 washers that will probably come off with the Star Drag. Remove 7 Screws. There are 3 different screw types that you're going to take out. It makes re-assembly easier if you lay the screws out in the same pattern as they came out of the reel. Unscrew the Clutch Lever Screw about 3/4 of a turn. DO NOT REMOVE IT!! If you remove the Clutch Lever Screw this spring will pop off and you'll have a "fun" time trying to get it back into place; trust me! Lift the Clutch Lever up just a bit and slide the Right Side Outer Ring off. Remove the Right Side Plate, this is what you'll see. Lift off and remove the Drive and Drag Gear Washer Assembly. Be very careful to keep all the washer and gears in order. Remove the red Drive Shaft Washer. This is the part you're going to replace, the Anti-Reverse Ratchet. The old Ratchet on the Left, the new on the Right. Hold back the Anti-Reverse Paw, lift off the old Anti-Reverse Ratchet and replace it with the new one. Make sure the post on the ratchet is facing down. Allow the Anti-Reverse Paw to drop back down against the new Ratchet. Re-assemble the reel in the opposite order as it was disassembled in. | |||
