Subject: Spawning Walleye

Tried to do a search on this before asking, but couldn't find anything in a reasonable manner.

I've just taken up fishing again and when I was a kid nobody taught me how to identify a female walleye pre-spawn. I plan to be fishing Wolf/Poygan/Winneconne here this spring. Can someone share with me how to properly identify a pre-spawn female? Am I being stupid here and it will be obvious when I catch one?

Yeah, it's usually pretty obvious. Don't be worried about "stupid" questions here. I've asked quite a few in my time here and haven't been shunned yet

There's a lot of good information and helpful folks floating around here.
