| There are lots of fish out there. Too bad the boys couldn't get up this far last week! Jig and minnow still works, they were quite picky, we even managed to catch 8 species on this trip! Here's Chase with a couple we decided to keep for dinner!
Good Luck

Location: McFarland, WI | How about a guess the 8 species contest. I'll go with walleye, drum, whitebass, rockbass, crappie, catfish, sucker, carp. Did you catch these all by the home base?

| Larry, the fishing for eyes was more scattered than I thought it would be this weekend. The "traditional" straightaways were empty. Look for larger fish at the downriver side of a deep hole as it transitions to a flat. It seems the flat straightaways tend to hold smaller fish.
Close on the guess, You have 6 of the 8! There are still alot of females in the river with plenty of food and the water is clear enough for them to find it. I don't think they will head out for sometime! Could be one of the best years ever to fish the river in peace and quiet as we only encounted a half dozen boats all morning.
Good Luck
