Yet another dumb question. I can't seem to transfer (load) any data from my SD card onto this unit. I go to the transfer page, press load and select the file but I cannot get the cursor to go down to "load". I thought it might be because the data is from a Eagle unit but it won't even load data from itself. Is there some type of parameter I am missing? I have been through the book a thousand times.

Just read the instructions Rich... sure seems as though your going through the right steps. Any chance the SD card is corrupt?

I've only loaded data to my unit a couple of times, but it really isn't that difficult to do, so I doubt your missing a step.

One dumb question though... the loading process only takes a fraction of a second.... have you looked at the unit to make sure the data didn't load?

I have two units and 4 cards. All four cards work fine in one unit but the globalmap will only work with preloaded maps and not saved data (waypoints and trails). I know I am doing it right because it works fine with the other unit. The globalmap does have two categories to load from (something like "user file" and "MMC card") where my Eagle only has one ("user file"). The load page does look like it has something wrong with it, the words are a bit jumbled. I am pretty sure there is something wrong with the unit.

Rich,

I'd try downloading the latest software for your globalmap from lowrance and updating your unit with it. If there is a software bug in your unit, that should take care of it. Then try the transfer again.

How do I do that. I don't have the Map create software and I don't have any way to connect the unit to my computer. I think that will work, just have to figure how to do it. Thanks Chad.

Rich,
Have to get yourself a MMC/SD card reader to hook up to the computer. You can get them for about $15 from best buy or the like if you can't find one to borrow. At that point you download the file from lowrance's website, put it on the mmc card, then place that mmc card into the unit before you start it up. Installation of the software is automatic when you power up the unit.

Well, Shep has the magic touch. I met him up a Fleet Farm and we plugged it in there. Put in the chip and the waypoints came right up. He did update my unit and it is working great. Thanks guys for all the help.
