Doc,

I enjoy reading your reports as it helps me plan my weekend.
Was wondering if you could update your 4/10/06 report. Are walleyes still biting in Fremont area?

Been a tough week or two for me. I've had very few opportinities to fish or time to do a fishing report. As far as I know, there's walleye around but not in any big concentration, I'd bet early mornings would be best.
I would imagine Poygan would start to be producing some fish too, I'd be fishing them pretty shallow.
Ma's Bait's fishing report should be pretty current, hope it provided some insight.

White bass fishing is improving and I've been hearing rumors of walleye filtering down with some fish still active below Shiocton. Lake Poygan and Clark's Bay on Winneconne have started to produce some good fishing too for walleye.. Catfish ahve been biting and there have been some nice bluegills being caught by those who search for them.

Didn't do Clarks Bay this AM, but spent 4 hrs. in Poygan ( in and around the hole) pulling crawlers and arts but natta. Only two other boats in the area all morning and it didn't look like they were doing anything. Water temp 58, last year water temp 56 on 5/18 and filled in same area. Last year the water temp didn't get to 58 until 5/21. What gives? Who told ya they are catching them in Clarks and Poygan? Guess you never beleive anything you hear and only half of what you see.

YUP, was lying just to waste your time and mine. Obviously if you didn't catch any fish in 4 hours, there are no fish there to be caught. I guess everybody else who fished it in the last few days is fos too. Well. at least the ones that told me they caught fish. Guess that's why they call it fishing.

Thanks Doc, for the updates... I like the way you tell it.. The sport is called fishing.. Sometimes you catch fish and sometimes you do not.. If you want to catch fish all the time stay home and buy an aquarium and put fish in it... Guarenteed to catch fish one way or another then. Fishing is a sport and is what you make of it.. I have 2 boys that enjoy it even when we do not catch fish.. But when we find them and we are by ourselfs and nobody is around that makes us proud to know that we worked for them not the internet...
