My participation in tournaments is a form of competition that I hope I never have to give up.

I too participated in the FLW Petenwell tourney. unfortunately my fish refused to bite. I did run up river to try and scrounge a fish or two from the trolling bite. Unfortunately I was too late. I did lose about 30 mins. of fishing time towing a disabled boat filled with Asian anglers to the new launch. I could have left them waving at all of the other boats that blew by them, but did not. I apologized to my co-angler but said I needed to do the right thing and tow them in. He agreed and we did what was right.

I'm not asking for any recognition or sympathy but it is safe to say 50 boats went by these guys and no one stopped to help. That includes the RECREATIONAL anglers!

I buy my licence just as every body else, I choose to compete!!

Mac,

I too fished this event as a boater. I was in the river with a decent limit, but didn't see the distressed boat. I commend you for your efforts as I would've done the same even with a limit. I for one would like to thank you for showing the kind of decency and respect for others that some of us tourney anglers were raised with. Good luck to you.

You did the right thing. Good karma for you. I hope I am the your co angler. I can feel some feesh.

On a side note, where was DNR when you need em. Maybe overfilled by weight and bodies, and shouldnt be on the water. Could have ended ugly, but at least you helped out.
