Skeeter, What I use on Bago for popping bottom with the shads is a steel leader that I make of my own. Sportsman has it, called American Fishing Wire, 1-7 Surfstrand, 15 lb test. It is real thin. I run the wire throw the eye of the shad and the loose end clamp a plier on and spin it. The other end put an eye on (to tie the fire line to) and spin the wire on it too. Never had to retie one of these. Also works great on Poygan with those toothie critters.

I trolled Poygan Fri AM with no results. But, your a better fisherman than I so good luck. I am busy with family stuff for the weekend but back on the water during the week. Waiting to hear how you do Sun and Mon.

Try Tygerleader. You can tie with and it is as flexible as mono. Capt. Doug

I went out this morning after i got done with work, got out at about 6:45, trolled off the east side, caught 4 eyes, 3 whitebass, and 1 sheephead, never really picked up any pattern or anything, eyes were on all different colors and depths of water, just kinda random anything.  Will be back out tuesday morning when i get home from work

Hey Skeeter,
I can't beleive you could go 17 hrs in the boat! I'll bet you didn't walk straight even the next day. You probably had to put one foot on the floor while sleeping.

I have been retired 5 years now and this has been the worst catching spring I have had. The fishing has been good, great weather. Every year has been some different, but this has been the biggest different. I was beginning to think it was me.

Trolled N.W. corner Fri Am from 7 to 10 with two 11 and 12 inch and one of the biggest Cats ever along with 1/2 doz Sheeps on the harnesses. Lots of marks. By the way the Eyes were on #5 Shade Raps Shade color 50 to 60 back. Taking the week end to play with Granddaughters and paint the garage post that I hit with the boat. Been backing a boat in there since 73 and finally the odds got me.
