Subject: Question about trolling

When trolling with fireline using a #9 floating Rapala, I was wondering how much line needs to go out to reach the Rapala's maximum depth?

what line diameter fireline, I suspect since an original floater doesnt have much a depth curve it wont change too much. Its that small diameter line on deep diving cranks that makes fireline cut through the water better producing deeper results.

hmb,

I recommend buying the Precision Trolling Guide if you're going to troll crankbaits. The dive charts are based on 10 lb diameter line and can easily be converted to a Fireline equivilent.

Generally, to answer your question, at about 100 ft of line a floater/diver type lure reaches it's maximum diving level, which would be about 6-7 ft. with a Floating Rapala.
