Nope, didn't lock you out of a thing; why in the world would we do that??? Are you logging in? Look at your Control Panel settings too.

Logged in, nothing in the Control Panel. Funny, the Edit button is there right after I post, but then goes away? Is there a time limit on my stupidity?

I believe i have the time limit set at 30 minutes. Keeps people from going in 2 years later and deleting all their own posts.
