Location: Rhinelander | The Bay was a little bumpy this morning early, with the winds exactly as forecast out of the south east. By dawn the winds had settled some, and the cloud line is still off a ways to the south. The weather Channel has winds in Escanaba as 'calm' right now with a clear radar and winds by 2 PM to be east at 10. High temps today are to be 68 to 70 degrees. Tomorrow looks much better than it did last night with winds only forecast to be 10 to 20 hopefully allowing the PWT Anglers to get in a full three days. Successful patterns include cranks to spinner rigs and about everything in between. Day one leader Bob Probst Jr. is using an interesting technique that has been putting big limits in the boat all the way through practice to yesterday. More on that tomorrow! Watch for the WalleyeFIRST Live Leader Board to fire up about 3:15 Central time. | So, where have the "hot bite spots" been? Are they all fishing the same general area, or spread out accross the hugh system? Are they fishing diffrent for the big fish compared to the smaller fish. | |||

Member Posts: 1382 | The wind again was a deciding factor for many of the Pros today during Day Two of the PWT regional on Bays De Noc. Many anglers came in soaked and a bit beat up from a 20 or more mile run in 4' seas. The heavy seas didn't bother Pat Neu and Todd Riley much, as Pat weighed a 22.49# basket to take the lead followed by 'Iron Man' Todd Riley with a 23.56# basket to hold second at the end of Day Two. Tom Gatzke put 18.92# in the boat to maintain third. Keith Kavajecz had another great day and is holding down 4th place going into the final day. Keith has cemented a berth in the Championship with his weight so far, as has Todd Riley. Bill Ortiz pulled a 26.01# basket just missing the heavy weight of the tourament posted by Bob Probst Jr yesterday by less than a pound, vaulting into 5th. Courts and Kuzdzal posted weights over 20# to hold a top ten position, and Fairbairn, Brumbaugh, and Gofron held their own with baskets in the middle teens to round out the top ten. The USCG visited today warning of seas the might be near 4' to 5' tomorrow morning, possibly building to 7' or more by afternoon. Stay with WalleyeFIRST in the early morning for a report on conditions on the big pond and the PWT's decision if Day Three looks like small craft warnings will be issued. There was talk onstage today about the big fish 'reef bite' not providing the slots needed for a good basket, so many of the Pros are moving around quite a bit. Cranks, spinner rigs, and even a couple Pros fishing spoons have been the patterns discussed up to now.
